Come Wander With Me: I'm Performing at BPAC's WANDER Evening This September

I don't get to say this often, but I'm genuinely excited about a local event I get to be part of that is open to the public — and I wanted to share it with you.

On Saturday, September 26, 2026, I'll be performing at WANDER, a one-night-only immersive arts experience at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, celebrating BPAC's 15th Anniversary Season.

What Exactly Is WANDER?

Picture this: for one evening, the entire performing arts centre transforms into a living, breathing playground of art. Instead of sitting in rows facing a stage, you wander through the building and stumble into moments — dance, music, acrobatics, visual art, spoken word, interactive installations, and yes, magic — happening in unexpected corners, hallways, and spaces you wouldn't normally think of as "performance venues."

There's no single seat to sit in and no single show to watch straight through. It's discovery-based, a bit surprising, and honestly the kind of format that suits close-up magic perfectly — I get to catch people mid-wander, off guard, and show them something impossible right there in the moment.

The evening edition also includes special tours, food and drink experiences, and extra touches created exclusively for the night — so it's as much a full evening out as it is a performance. I'll be part of the afternoon and evening events.

Why I Said Yes Immediately

In over 20 years of doing this, most of my work happens at private parties, corporate events, and receptions — rooms where I already know who's in the audience and roughly what they came for. WANDER flips that completely. I'll be performing for everyone and anyone — they came to wander, to be surprised, to bump into art they weren't expecting.

That's a different kind of magic — literally and figuratively. There's something special about catching someone completely off guard mid-conversation, mid-drink, mid-wander, and giving them a genuine "wait, what just happened?" moment.

It's also a cause I'm happy to lend a hand to. This isn't just a party — it's a fundraiser supporting BPAC's Community Access Programs, which work to remove barriers so more people in the community can experience the arts. Every ticket helps make that possible and as a fellow Burlingtonian I want to help out the BPAC however I can.

The Details

  • What: WANDER — Artistic Interventions in Unexpected Places (Evening Edition)

  • When: Saturday, September 26, 2026, ticketed portion starting at 7pm (free afternoon drop-in from 1-4pm)

  • Where: The Burlington Performing Arts Centre, 440 Locust Street, Burlington

  • Tickets: $150 (includes a $50 charitable tax receipt)

There's also a free afternoon Culture Days activity from 1–4pm the same day if you want a taste of WANDER without a ticket — I'll be there from 1-4 performing short shows in a small theatre and then again for the 5-7 ticketed event.

Come Say Hi

If you've booked me for your own event before, or you've just been following along here, I'd love to see you there. Come wander, raise a glass, and let me show you something you won't be able to explain on the drive home.

Grab your tickets here before they're gone — this is a one-night-only experience, and I have a feeling it'll sell out.

See you there, Chris
